Andy joined Acadian Asset Management in 2021 as the Director of Responsible Investing. He leads Acadian’s global Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) efforts and oversees the firm’s ESG strategies, related research initiatives, and active ownership tactics, in addition to serving as the chair for Acadian’s Responsible Investing Committee.

Andy is based out of Acadian Asset Management in London, and prior to joining Acadian, he worked as the director of applied data since at Putnam Investments. Previous to that, Andy was managing director and chief data scientist at Deutsche Bank and a quantitative ESG portfolio manager at APG Asset Management.

He holds a Ph.D. in natural language processing from Erasmus University, specializing in the creation of alternative ESG signals, a MSc. in applied statistics from the University of London, and a B.A. and M.A. in economics from the University of Cambridge. Andy is a CFA charterholder and acts as a referee for ESG papers submitted to the Financial Analysts Journal. He has also acted as an advisor to the Bank of England on the use of artificial intelligence and alternative data.
