Matthew trained as a chartered accountant and began his investment career as an accountant supporting the pensions team at the Royal Borough of Greenwich in 2011.

After taking up the role of Strategic Investment Manager of the Tri-Borough Treasury and Pensions team in 2017, Matthew leads on investment matters and advises the Investment Committees for the City of Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Pension Funds, with a combined asset value of £5bn.

Since 2020 Matthew has also worked on the climate emergency project team for the City of Westminster, ensuring climate change risks are factored into the capital allocation process and that investment risks are properly integrated into the City’s climate action plan.
